While playing around with cameras for most of his life, the genre of street photography slowly but surely found its way into Simon’s work. The first hint of this can be found in photos from 2013 when he visited Italy during a student exchange. At home, save for some occasional breakouts, he unconsciously tried to avoid including people in his photos. This changed abruptly when finding the "On the Street With" documentary series by Lintaro and finally realising that the human element is the whole point of photography.
When moving into a new city in 2022, exploring the streets took complete hold of him. Since then, his style has evolved quickly, from typical silhouettes and lonely figures against a backdrop to raw moments and often chaotic compositions that offer greater complexity. He loves to observe and remember, and his photos are a record of this.
